LEAGUE CITY, TX--(Marketwired - Feb 7, 2014) - ERF Wireless (OTCQB: ERFB), the operator of the nation's largest terrestrial wireless broadband network servicing the domestic oil and gas sector, announced today that its Network Operations Control Center or NOCC has recently been relocated and undergone a complete overhaul inside its corporate facility in League City, Texas.
Jay Bilden, Sr. Vice President of Engineering, stated, "We anticipated a need for a higher degree of operational efficiency in our NOCC over a year ago. We then began developing transition plans and upgrades in conjunction with supporting our day-to-day business. As our business continues to grow, we continue to see higher demands placed on our infrastructure and personnel. This new NOCC is now in place to support that future demand. I'm pleased with the improvement in response times, the professional staff in the NOCC and the facilities. It actually reminds you of something right out of a Sci-Fi movie."
Taking cues and examples of how to design and keep critical communications successful from entities such as NASA is just one reason why ERF Wireless continues to lead the industry in critical, remote wireless communications. "We have drastically upgraded our entire approach to staffing, response metrics and infrastructure hardware to provide our customer base with real-time information on critical events," said Chief Operating Officer, Tim Maxson. Maxson went on to say, "The investments we made over the last half of 2013 have enabled us to respond 57% faster to critical issues inside our oil and gas and banking sectors. This is a huge improvement to an already extremely responsive system. I am proud of the engineering team and the IT department's efforts in pulling this multi-million dollar effort together on time and on budget."
The team at ERF Wireless has invested significant working capital into this project as well as consulted with some of the country's leading NASA resources to design and implement a Network Operations Control Center that resembles a Mission Control Center from the Space Shuttle era. Along with the infrastructure improvements, a team of highly skilled Network Engineers, designers and provisioning experts have been assembled to form a preventative iron curtain approach to critical elements of the network as well as become responsive to any unforeseen issues that may arise. It truly is a lesson in how to effectively apply the three "M's" when solving business problems and should lead to increased efficiencies and improved cash flow as ERF Wireless expands its business in 2014.
