CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - May 03, 2013) - NOCO Energy Corporation was selected as the winner of the anyplace workspace®
Extreme Tech Transformation contest by a panel of judges from MCPc and its manufacturer partners.
Launched in the spring of 2012, the anyplace workspace Extreme Tech Transformation contest challenged information technology leaders from across the country to make the case for how their organization could be transformed with $100,000 in technology and services from Cisco, VMware, Hewlett-Packard, Eaton and MCPc. More than 200 organizations submitted their stories, and, after a series of review rounds, the judges chose NOCO Energy as the winner.
NOCO Energy is a distributor of energy products including commercial and residential fuels, natural gas, electricity and lubricants. It's a third-generation family-owned company based in Tonawanda, New York, with approximately 700 employees in 20 locations throughout western New York.
"Our business has experienced significant growth in recent years, and we expect that to continue," said Jim Cochran, IT Director, NOCO Energy. "We had an aging infrastructure that lacked the agility and capacity to support our growth and future initiatives like VDI. The $100,000 package MCPc and its partners put together for us addressed all of these issues and equipped several of our staff with the tools they need to do their jobs more efficiently."
The $100,000 solution package included VMware vSphere, Cisco Catalyst Ethernet switches, an Eaton 9155 UPS, Windows 8 ultrabooks for mobile executive staff and LED monitors for call center personnel from Hewlett-Packard, and integration services from MCPc.
"The anyplace workspace is all about giving end users a richer, more mobile experience on an infrastructure that can securely support it and can scale with ease," said Jed Ayres, senior vice president partner management and marketing, MCPc. "The technology NOCO chose has put them well on their way towards realizing that vision. We know Jim and the rest of the company will put it to great use."
