Nomi Adds $10M in Series A Funding From Accel Partners

Nomi Marketing Platform Helps Offline Retailers Optimize Stores Like eCommerce Websites

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Oct 16, 2013) - Nomi, the first marketing platform for offline businesses, today announced that the company has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Accel Partners. Existing seed investors First Round Capital, Greycroft Partners and Forerunner ventures also participated. Nomi will use these fresh funds to fuel the growth of its engineering and product teams.

Online retailers have enjoyed tremendous topline growth over the past decade by implementing data driven technologies to enhance the shopping experience for each visitor. Nomi's marketing platform makes it possible to extend these tools to offline retail, empowering brick and mortar businesses to optimize their stores just like a website.

Nomi's solution allows retailers to quantify the number of visitors each marketing campaign generates and determine how effectively stores convert browsers into buyers. This complete picture of the customer conversion funnel allows retailers to predict the health of each store and diagnose operational bottlenecks before they impact the bottom line.

"We began by offering analytics to improve retailer's bottom line and will use this funding to expand our features to include customer service," said Marc Ferrentino, co-founder and CEO of Nomi. Nomi's current clients include five of the top fifty Apparel Retailers and three of the top fifty Quick Serve Restaurant chains in the United States (as measured by sales). "Accel's unparalleled expertise in both big data and retail makes the firm the ideal partner to fuel Nomi's next growth phase."

"After looking at the competition, we invested in Nomi because of the company's holistic vision and ability to execute. In a single year Nomi signed more clients than every other competitor combined," said Jake Flomenberg of Accel Partners. "Nomi's founding team has an exceptional track record of building CRM and analytics companies such as Salesforce and Buddy Media. We're proud to help them extend those services to offline businesses."
