BURLINGTON, VT--(Marketwired - Jul 18, 2013) - International Avalanche Nest-Egg (IANe), a Vermont public benefit non-profit, is proud to announce it will be hosting its first fundraising event in Burlington, Vermont at Nectar's Restaurant and Nightclub this Friday, July 19.
Join us at Nectar's to kick start the party with great music, drinks, dancing, and a silent auction with loads of items donated by Burton Snowboards, Hotel Vermont, Teton Mountain Lodge, Skiershop.com, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Vermont Peanut Butter Company, Reciprocity Studio, and a ton of local restaurants and small business.
The organization came to life from an idea that Ian spoke often about. Through the hard work of his friends and family the Nest-Egg was born. The primary mission of the International Avalanche Nest-Egg is to assist the children and families of avalanche victims with immediate and long-term financial needs associated with the death of a loved one. The long-term goal is to put these children through college and create financial stability in a time of need. The secondary mission is to increase avalanche awareness, and further support the responsible enjoyment of back country sports.
Elizabeth Lamphere, founder and director of the International Avalanche Nest-Egg, stated, "In the world of back country adventures accidents are unpredictable. Our non-profit serves as a financial cushion for families that are in need. Personally dealing with the loss of Ian and supporting our daughter Madelyn, I am dealing with this first hand and we are committed to making a difference for anyone who goes through this."
The evening's entertainment will be kicked off by Jay Burwick of RAQ, followed by Seth Yacovone and headliner Blues for Breakfast will play the night away. Entry is FREE from 5-9pm, with a $6 cover charge after 9pm. $1 of each cover charge paid will go to the fund.
