NOR Energy AS: Second East Causeway Test Results- UK North Sea

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 15, 2006) - NOR Energy AS announces the second and final test of the East Causeway well 211/23d-17z has been completed. The well, drilled through the Middle Jurassic Brent Group sandstones to a measured depth of 14,900 feet, yielded a second successful result. The tested zone flowed multiple stabilized rates of up to 7,500 bopd on a 42/64 choke and measured pressures of 1,006 psi.

The well is operated by Antrim Energy Inc. and NOR Energy AS (NOR) has a 10.5% working interest.

The second test yielded sweet, 32 degree API oil and low oil gas ratio. These results are consistent with the first test results reported August 3, 2006 that flowed at a rate of 7,000 bopd. The reservoirs are located in two separate fault compartments in the Ness and Tarbert formations.

These two tests flowed at a combined rate 14,500 bopd. In addition to the previously drilled and suspended well 211/23b-11 which flowed 8,100 bopd from the Ness formation, the resultant overall test rate would be 22,600 bopd. Several other prospective zones have been identified and remain untested to date.

Further wells on the Causeway block will be conducted following final analysis of flow rates and pressure data.

NOR Energy AS is a Calgary based Norwegian incorporated privately held company with assets in the UK North Sea, Tanzania, Australia and the Czech Republic.
