Nora Duke Appointed President and CEO of Fortis Properties

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR--(CCNMatthews - April 25, 2007) - The Board of Directors of Fortis Properties (TSX:FTS) announced today that Ms. Nora Duke has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Fortis Properties, effective May 1, 2007. She succeeds Mr. Earl Ludlow who becomes President and Chief Executive Officer of Newfoundland Power, effective April 30, 2007.

Ms. Duke has held the position of Vice-President, Hospitality Services of Fortis Properties since 2003. During her prior 17-year tenure with Fortis subsidiary Newfoundland Power, Ms. Duke held a number of progressively senior positions including Vice President, Customer and Corporate Services from 1999 through 2002.
