Normabec Mining Resources Ltd.: Pitt Gold Property, Diamond Drilling Program Initiated on the High Grade Zone

ST-BRUNO, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - March 21, 2006) - Normabec Mining Resources Limited (NORMABEC) (TSX VENTURE:NMB) has begun a diamond drilling campaign on the Pitt Gold Property. The central part of the Property which contains a significant High Grade Zone will be our prime target area with this drilling campaign of approximately 3,000 meters to follow-up on these very rich gold intersections.

As mentioned in the compilation of our 2005 exploration program and illustrated on the Vein 2 longitudinal section, the central part of the Property contains several high grade gold intersections, from drilling performed over the years by NORMABEC, Santa Fe Canadian Mining Limited and Pitt Gold Corporation:

PG2005-09 : 36,25 g/t Au over 4,6 meters
DQ95-32 : 16,91 g/t Au over 6,25 meters
DQ95-03 : 35,71 g/t Au over 2,03 meters
DQ95-37 : 13,02 g/t Au over 2,52 meters
P-58 : 9,82 g/t Au over 3,97 meters
P-35 : 10,42 g/t Au over 2,44 meters

The Pitt Gold Property, is located approximately 35 km north of Rouyn-Noranda and more precisely 7 km to the east of the town of Duparquet, Abitibi. The property straddles the highly prospective Porcupine-Destor Fault and is strategically located between the Beattie, Donchester and Central Duparquet former producers, to the west, and the Duquesne and Golconda gold mines, to the east. They form part of the Duparquet gold camp which historically produced more than 2,6 million ounces of gold as mentioned by the Government of Quebec (Ministry of Natural Resources). Most of these former producers were located close to the Porcupine-Destor Fault.

The drilling program is under the supervision of Mr. Pierre O'Dowd, geologist and Qualified Person as per National Instrument 43-101.

NORMABEC has an option agreement with SOQUEM INC. and GeoNova Explorations inc. to acquire a 60% interest in the Pitt Gold Property by conducting a 15,000-metre-drilling program and can increase its interest by another 20% by incurring an additional $500,000 on the Property.

In 2005, NORMABEC drilled more than 9,300 meters on the Property. After the current campaign, NORMABEC will have completed approximately 12,300 meters of drilling.
