North American Partners in Anesthesia Announces Acquisition of Michigan-Based ProCare Systems, Inc.

MELVILLE, NY--(Marketwired - December 02, 2015) - North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA), the largest single-specialty anesthesia and perioperative management company in the United States, today announced the acquisition of ProCare Systems, a Management Services Organization focused on chronic pain management located in Grand Rapids, MI. As the market leader in the specialty, ProCare will serve as NAPA's strategically focused Center of Excellence specialized on managing and growing chronic pain management practices throughout the United States. The combined organization will focus its efforts on helping its patients manage and alleviate their chronic pain through a data-driven patient experience system and work to implement a shared vision of building systems and processes that shape the future of chronic pain management. NAPA currently manages 27 hospital and office-based chronic pain management locations.

"With pain representing a growing patient concern, healthcare facilities recognize the need to develop chronic pain management programs with a multidisciplinary clinical approach to enhance outcomes and return patients to an active, pain-free lifestyle," said John Di Capua, MD, CEO of NAPA. "As a strong, high quality organization with significant expertise in chronic pain management, ProCare will add tremendous value to NAPA in furthering our goals and commitment to excellence in this area of care. We look forward to our new relationship with ProCare and advancing our shared goal of delivering superior care and value to the marketplace."

As a physician-led organization and innovator in healthcare, ProCare has been involved in practice development, practice management and medical research for over 20 years. ProCare develops and integrates real-time solutions, business systems, management matrices and clinical protocols to enable physicians to provide their patients with the highest quality of care. With over 200 administrative staff members, ProCare provides services to three chronic pain management practices at 13 locations throughout Michigan.

"After getting to know one another and coming to understand our respective visions for the industry, both sides recognized that we had a unique opportunity to scale ProCare's value-based-care approach through NAPA's national pain-management network," said Fred N. Davis, MD, President and co-founder of ProCare Systems. "With our proven systems, clinical-outcomes technology and operational savvy, ProCare is focused on maximizing the patient experience. We couldn't envision a better partnership to expand those experiences to more patients all over the country."

Added ProCare co-founder Mark L. Gostine, MD: "Our track record for delivering strong clinical outcomes and high patient satisfaction while lowering costs is a model for the industry and one that we are thrilled to offer into NAPA's growing platform."

This marks NAPA's continued growth in the Midwest, providing anesthesia and management services to healthcare facilities and practices throughout the region.
