North American Tungsten Corporation Stakes Additional Claims at Mactung

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 16, 2005) - North American Tungsten Corporation (TSX VENTURE:NTC) is pleased to announce that it has staked an additional 36 claims, comprising approximately 1,800 acres in the aggregate, on the western boundary of its wholly owned Mactung property, located on the N.W.T. - Yukon border.

The Company has recently completed a $1.1 million drilling program at Mactung. In addition the Company rehabilitated the 1973 adit and took twenty-seven channel samples and a 70 tonne bulk sample taken from extensive tungsten-bearing skarn exposures in the old workings. The channel samples will be sent for assay and the bulk sample used for metallurgical testing.

Assay results from the 6,000 metre drilling program and the channel samples will be reported shortly.

The exploration and sampling program is being conducted under the direction of the Corporation's Manager of Exploration, Mr. David Tenney, C.Eng. Mr. Tenney is a Qualified Person as designated under NI43-101.

The Corporation has installed a weather monitoring station at the Mactung site and during the coming year environmental baseline and other feasibility studies will commence with a view to starting the environmental permitting process in early 2007.
