North American Vanadium Inc.: Appointment to Board

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 4, 2007) -

Mr. Scott LeSage reports:

North American Vanadium Inc., (the "Company") (CNQ:NAVI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Gerardjan (Oppe) Cosijn to the board of directors. Mr. Cosijn graduated from the University of Calgary (1987) with a degree in Geology and brings with him over 20 years of experience, primarily in the oil and gas industry. He has worked for both private and public companies as well acting as an independent consultant. He will also assume the role of Vice President of Project Development of the Company effective immediately.

In conjunction with his appointment the board of directors of the Company has issued to Mr. Cosijn 500,000 incentive stock options, each option entitling the holder to acquire a common share of the Company at an exercise price of $1.15 per share until April 2, 2012.

North American Vanadium Inc. is a Vancouver based mineral exploration company which holds an option to earn a 60% interest in the Canadian Creek Mineral Property in the Whitehorse Mining District, Yukon Territory. The Company is currently finalizing its exploration plan and budget for the 2007 season which it hopes to implement in the coming months. In addition, the Company is continually searching for projects of merit both in Canada and elsewhere.

The Company's common shares are listed for trading on the Canadian Trading and Quotation System Inc. (CNQ) under the symbol NAVI.
