WINDSOR, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 30, 2014) - Long-time North Bay resident and NDP provincial election candidate Henri Giroux was re-elected to sit on the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario Executive Board for another two-year term at the union's 51st annual convention in Windsor, Ontario.
Giroux, who will serve as 4th Vice-President, joins CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn, Secretary-Treasurer Candace Rennick, and other Board members from across the province in leading Ontario's largest union.
"I look forward to serving our members in their efforts to promote equality and fairness in their workplaces and across the province," said Giroux.
A long standing labour and community activist, Giroux is also president of the North Bay Labour Council, and National Regional Vice President for Northern Ontario on the National Executive Board of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).
CUPE is Ontario's community union, with members providing quality public services we all rely on in every part of the province every day. CUPE Ontario members are proud to work in social services, health care, municipalities, school boards, universities and airlines.
