North Carolina Author and Generation Y Expert Speaks to 2008 Regional Economic Development Conference in New Orleans, LA

SOUTHERN PINES, NC--(Marketwire - April 22, 2008) - Leadership Consultant and Generation Y Expert, Bea Fields, recently spoke to the 2008 Regional Economic Development Conference in New Orleans, LA. Along with Scott Wilder, Jim Bunch and Rob Newbold, Fields is the co-author of "Millennial Leaders: Success Stories From Today's Most Brilliant Generation Y Leaders" (http://MillennialLeaders.com).

The 2008 conference theme was "Sustaining American Prosperity: The 21st Century Challenge." The event was attended by over 500 business, government and education leaders. Fields joined Roberto Carmona, an executive search management consultant with David Gomez and Associates and Chris King of the University of Texas at Austin to speak on "The Changing American Workplace."

Fields' mission with her presentation was to provide audience members with potential solutions to many of the challenges seasoned leaders (i.e., Traditionalists, Baby Boomers and Generation X) are facing in trying to meet the needs and expectations of Generation Y in the workplace. "The American economy and business landscape are undergoing radical change, and our workforce is evolving more quickly than we can often handle," said Fields. "My goal with this presentation was to educate business leaders from across the United States about our emerging workforce and to offer up strategies that companies can implement, starting today, to make Gen Y's transition into our business world as successful as possible. This is a very hot topic and one that all business leaders need to address sooner rather than later."

Fields is the President of Bea Fields Companies, Inc. and the Founder of Five Star Leader Coaching and Training. She operates her business in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
