North County Health Services Selects Sage Intergy CHC-EHR to Increase Reporting and Clinic Efficiency

Sage's Practice Portal Also Will Help the Clinic Engage and Enhance Patient Experiences

TAMPA, FL--(Marketwire - June 10, 2010) -  Sage North America Healthcare division today announced that North County Health Services, a community health center with 53 physicians in 11 clinics based in San Marcos, Calif., has selected Sage Intergy CHC-EHR for its practice management, electronic health records and Community Health Center module that provides specialized patient management, billing and reporting needs.

The Sage Intergy enterprise solution increases the efficiency of business and administrative processes including sliding-fee schedules and Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting.

North County Health Services, which serves more than 60,000 patients annually, selected Sage for Sage Intergy's enhanced practice management capabilities as the clinic moves from paper to electronic records. The Sage Intergy practice reporting capabilities were a key element in the decision. The clinic will use the Sage Intergy suite to continue to enhance both operations and clinical intelligence, said North County Health Services Chief Financial Officer Phil Lenowsky.

"Sage has the Rolls Royce of all reporting systems on the market. It's the best product out there to get the information we need to run our practice efficiently," Lenowsky added. "And, it's easy to use. Because of its ease of use, Sage Intergy enables clinic staff to access clinical data and produce reports as frequently as needed and will make it possible to analyze performance and code compliance to increase productivity."

Sage Intergy also will allow North County Health Services to achieve meaningful use and earn the federal dollars associated with the stimulus act. North County Health Services plans to make improvements to its clinics with the federal funds to increase the level of care offered patients. After reviewing the Sage product lineup and meaningful use guarantee, Lenowsky is confident that North County Health Services will be able to secure the data necessary to receive the federal dollars available.

"Meaningful use is the goal and Sage Intergy is the key to that," Lenowsky said. "Sage has proven over the years to serve community health clinics well. Knowing that they have so much experience in this area is a comfort to me."

North County Health Services also selected the Sage Intergy Practice Portal and will use it to encourage patients to engage with providers. Through the portal, patients will be able to securely submit forms, request appointments and prescription refills, and view lab results and immunization data.

"From the innovative electronic health record to enhanced population management through Sage's unique report writing tool, our patients will be the beneficiaries of technological advancement," said North County Health Services' Kenneth Morris, MD, Associate Medical Director and Chief of Pediatrics. "Sage Intergy will be the framework that will allow us to continue meeting our mission by improving the health status of our diverse communities while transforming lives in the process."

Key features of Sage Intergy CHC include:

  • Sliding fee schedules for medical and dental and services that are based on federal poverty guidelines.
  • UDS reporting to Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), which the federal agency uses to improve community health center performance, address healthcare disparities, ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, and identify effective services and interventions
