Northbrook Hotel's Renovations to Get Underway Spring 2011

New Design, Technology Define North Shore Chicago's Classic Escape

NORTHBROOK, IL--(Marketwire - Apr 20, 2011) - Moving forward to enhance the overall guest experience, the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel is embarking on a multi-million dollar renovation that will rejuvenate the hotel, updating its overall design and appearance as well as its technology.

"With our first of two renovation phases beginning this spring, we'll be injecting new life into the hotel with everything from a new design overhaul to technology updates to our guest rooms and meeting spaces," announced Dick Turner, General Manager of this AAA-rated Four-Diamond boutique hotel in North Chicago. A premier choice among Chicago area hotels, guests at the Renaissance can look forward to accommodations that feature new carpet, wall coverings, window treatments, decorative art, and modern upholstered furniture; all-new in-room safes, refrigerators and counter-top cosmetic mirrors; new energy-efficient, in-room air conditioning; new Wi-Fi Internet infrastructure in all guest rooms; full renovation of the Presidential, Ravinia and North Shore Suites; guest corridor renovation that includes new carpeting, wall covering and furniture; and all-new furnishings in the Concierge Club Lounge, including a 55-inch flat panel television, hardwood entry floor, and new kitchen and buffet areas with induction units and refrigeration.

This Northbrook hotel's meeting and event space will also be revamped and become more user- friendly with updated technology. Business travelers and event planners will enjoy improvements that include a new Business Center provider, new work stations, printer, copier/scanner/fax combo and software that will insure a clean, secure connection without interruption. New carpeting, wall coverings, lighting and furniture are planned for the Northbrook Ballroom and foyer and the Greenery Rooftop Ballroom. New divider walls are also planned for the Northbrook Ballroom and new window treatments and ADA access will be added to the impressive rooftop venue. Guest level meeting rooms, including the board room and Glenview meeting room will be completely refurnished for a fresh and inspiring new look.

Upon completion of these exciting improvements, the hotel will move forward in the winter of 2011-12 with Phase II of the renovation project, which includes a new design and full renovation of the Winnetka Ballroom, the auditorium, all lower level meeting space, as well as the hotel lobby, reception area, lounge and restaurant.
