Northern Freegold Resources Ltd. Announces Senior-Management Changes

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 28, 2008) - Bill Harris, Chief Executive Officer of Northern Freegold Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:NFR), announced today that Susan P. Craig has been appointed president of the Vancouver-based junior gold/copper/silver exploration company. Mr. Harris, most recently President of the company, assumes the new position of Chief Operating Officer, while retaining the responsibilities of CEO. These appointments take effect immediately.

Ms. Craig was formerly the company's Vice-President of Corporate Affairs and remains a Director of Northern Freegold.

"I'm delighted to take on the role of president," said Ms. Craig, who has extensive exploration and mining experience in B.C. and the Yukon and has been a key part of teams that managed projects from exploration through to production and reclamation. "Although I'm a geologist by profession, this position as president allows me to draw on both my technical and organizational skills."

Mr. Harris said, "The executive changes allow me to focus on Northern Freegold's corporate vision and strategy. This new role enables me to have a more hands approach at the company's properties in Yukon and Arizona and provide me time to focus on the future growth of the company. Sue gets to assume a more organizational role within Northern Freegold and to oversee the company's management on a daily basis. These changes will be of great benefit to the company and investors."

Ms. Craig, who brings community, permitting and First Nations consultation expertise to the job, is a top executive in an exploration company where women in technical positions prevail. Of the fourteen technical staff, including geologists, nine are female.

While Ms. Craig said she is pleased about the improving gender equality in the mining industry and the role of women in her company, "We hire people based on their skills and experience, not their gender."

About the company:

Northern Freegold is a well-financed Canadian-based resource exploration and development company which relies on local expertise and strong management to focus on development of economic reserves on the district-scale Freegold Mountain Project in the Yukon and the Burro Creek Project in Arizona.
