Northern Gold Mining Inc. Bulk Sampling Results

TORONTO--(Marketwire - November 28, 2007) -

  Bulk Sample 1: 1050 kg. averages 11.44 g/t overall
  Bulk Sample 3: 155 kg. oversize and dust averages 16.94 g/t
  Total of the 3 Lots: 332 kg. oversize and dust averages 12.55 g/t

Northern Gold Mining Inc. (TSX-V: NGM) announces results from its Fall 07 power-stripping and bulk-sampling program on its Bourkes Mine property located in Benoit Township in north-eastern Ontario. The Bourkes Mine is situated 22 kms northwest of the gold-mining camp of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The mine was in intermittent production from 1918 to 1947.

The Fall 07 power-stripping and bulk-sampling program was proposed to open the mineralized zone immediately north and south of the capped Bourkes Mine shaft to confirm mineralization. A power-shovel stripped and exposed the zone for 11 metres immediately north of the shaft and for 17 metres immediately south of the shaft. The mineralized zone was visually continuous for the entire lengths of the stripped area with irregular Quartz-Carbonate Veins of widths of 20 cm. to hairline within 1 metre of a strong shear. Five areas were chosen along the stripped length both north and south as representative areas to blast for bulk sample collection. The certified Polymet Labs, Cobalt was chosen to crush and assay the bulk sample.

A total of 3051 kg. was collected overall to produce the following results:

Bulk Sample 1:
Fines = 977 kg. @ 11.40 g/t
Oversize = 27 kg. @ 9.50 g/t
Dust = 46 kg. @ 13.06 g/t

Bulk Sample 2:
Fines = 887 kg. @ 2.90 g/t
Oversize = 28 kg. @ 1.28 g/t
Dust = 77 kg. @ 8.50 g/t

Bulk Sample 3:
Fines = 854 kg. @ 3.16 g/t
Oversize = 38 kg. @ 16.88 g/t
Dust = 117 kg. @ 16.94 g/t

The results confirm the presence of potentially economic gold mineralization near surface at the Bourkes Mine and gives indication of a high gold nugget factor for the Bourkes ore as previously suspected from historical reports. This sample can not be considered representative of the entire mine volume due to the relatively small area stripped in this program and small volume of rock recovered. The Company is also contemplating an underground de-watering and re-habilitation program to systematically test the Bourkes Mine. In anticipation of dewatering and rehabilitation the company has filed for an advanced exploration permit.

The Bourkes Mine bulk sample was collected by a Company field crew, in which material was blasted, hand loaded and sealed into barrels that were subsequently same day delivered to Polymet Labs, a division of PolyMet Resources Inc., P.O. Box 699, 1 Presley Street, Cobalt, Ontario, P0J 1C0, Canada ( This material was subsequently crushed, split, riffled and assayed by standard fire assay techniques in three work lots. Work protocol ensures that all sampling circuits were previously cleaned & purged of contaminants. Sampling of the lot fines was taken from a sampling tower extracted subsample that represents 0.25% of the entire bulk sample lot.

Results of this sampling program and the sampling procedures have been reviewed by R.V. Zalnieriunas P.Geo. an independent consulting geologist who is the "Qualified Person" as defined by NI 43-101 for this project.
