Northland Announces Resignation of V. Peter Harder From Its Board of Directors

Mr. Harder Appointed to Senate of Canada

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - March 21, 2016) - Northland Power Inc. ("Northland") (TSX: NPI) (TSX: NPI.PR.A) (TSX: NPI.PR.B) (TSX: NPI.PR.C) (TSX: NPI.DB.B) (TSX: NPI.DB.C) announced that V. Peter Harder has been appointed as the Liberal government's Representative in the Senate, and as a result resigned from Northland's Board of Directors effective Friday, March 18th.

Mr. Harder joined Northland's Board of Directors in 2010, and most recently served as the Chair of Northland's Compensation Committee and a Member of Northland's Audit Committee. 

He is a former deputy minister in a number of federal departments, including Industry Canada and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. In 2007, he joined Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP as senior policy adviser in Ottawa. Mr. Harder serves on several Canadian corporate and charitable boards. In 2008, he was elected the president of the Canada China Business Council, a private, non-profit association dedicated to building its members' success in China and Canada.
