Northland Cuts 47.4% Iron Over 50.8m, Stora Sahavaara Iron Ore Project, Sweden

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 14, 2005) - Mr. Buck Morrow, the President of Northland Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:NAU) (formerly known as North American Gold Inc.), is pleased to report the iron and copper assays for 4 metallurgical test holes drilled at NAU's Stora Sahavaara magnetite (iron) project in Sweden.

Results have now been received for holes SAH05-001 through 004. Iron grades range from 44.1% to 51.6% total iron, with a weighted average for all four holes of 45.8% iron and 0.08% copper over 47.2m. A full table of results for the 4 holes is given below.

Table 1. Iron grades for Stora Sahavaara metallurgical drilling

Buck Morrow, the President of Northland, commented, "I'm delighted that the iron grades from our drilling at Stora Sahavaara are almost exactly in line with the grades reported by the Swedish Geological Survey from their drilling. The material is now in the metallurgical lab in the US and we hope to be able to comment on the met testing results within 4-6 weeks. From here, we'll be looking to develop a substantial magnetite resource figure that is compliant with NI43-101."

The drill program was designed for representative metallurgical testing of approximately 800m strike length of the Stora Sahavaara deposit. All drill holes are oriented normal to the strike of the magnetite zone and the angle between the inclination of the drill hole and the dip of the zone is estimated at 70 to 75 degrees for a -50 degree hole and 60 to 65 degrees for a -60 degree hole. True widths of the mineralization are therefore estimated to be +90% of drill intercept.

Historic drill data indicates that the body can be traced for 1,300m along strike, and sub-crops close to surface below a few meters of glacial till. The body -which is reported to be between 40m to 100m in true thickness- appears to be open down dip below the current known extent of 750m.

Vance V. Thornsberry, PGeo, Vice-President of Exploration for Northland Resources Inc., is the qualified person as defined in National Instrument 43-101 responsible for the design and execution of the Stora Sahavaara drill program.
