Northpoint Church Celebrates Grand Opening in Cedar Park

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Mar 11, 2015) - Northpoint Church of Cedar Park, Texas invites its neighbors and community to join them for a spectacular Grand Opening on Sunday, March 29. The event will celebrate the official opening of Northpoint's new state of the art building and will feature live music, giveaways and coffee.

"This weekend is the culmination of years of planning, hard work and prayer. We're so grateful to everyone who's been part of the opening of this amazing space," lead pastor Buck Giebelhaus said.

Northpoint previously met in Georgetown. In 2014, the people of Northpoint knew they needed to make a change.

"We saw incredible growth and we needed more space. We knew the Cedar Park/North Austin area was booming and we wanted to create a place where people in our community could come together who normally don't go to church. We wanted to create a place they would love to attend," Giebelhaus said.

Northpoint's new location is the result of a community effort. The interior of the building was designed by James Timmins, who serves as Northpoint's service programming director. To help keep construction costs down, people within Northpoint as well as the nearby community donated their own time and labor to the construction of the new facility.

The open space is divided into themed zones that are meant to appeal to people of different ages. Young children meet in a nature themed area, adorned with colorful animal murals, while elementary age children wander halls decorated with iconic Austin landmarks. Middle school and High school aged students have their own space in the back of the building outfitted with game tables, a stage and video games.

"We wanted to make Northpoint a spot where every person could find their place. Each space was built from the ground up with the idea of being fun, relevant and engaging. We were tired of hearing how boring church was. It's fun, but we're also seeing authentic life change," Giebelhaus said.

The main auditorium is an engaging space, with modern set decorations that change through the year.

"We're really proud of the space we were able to put together. It was literally built by the people of Northpoint. We didn't build it for us, but for people who aren't here yet. For people who have honest questions about life and God. For people who are tired of the same old thing. For people who have had bad church experiences in the past. For people who feel like church is no longer relevant in their lives. Northpoint is a special place where we address those tensions and so much more. Plus we love to have fun! If any of those things sound like you, we'd love for you to join us as we celebrate our grand opening on March 29."
