FORT MCMURRAY, AB--(Marketwired - Sep 4, 2014) - NorthStar Ford Group Canada is proud to announce that it raised $4,840 for two Fort McMurray, Ab. schools, Father Mercredi Community High School and Holy Trinity Catholic High School, as part of Ford Motor Company's "Drive 4 UR School" campaign.
Natasha MacArthur-Poole, principal of Father Mercredi High School, said, "The funds raised on April 27 will support our breakfast program with which 100-150 students are provided a free breakfast each day. We appreciate the tremendous generosity of NorthStar Ford as it will help sustain a program that benefits Merc kids every day."
Earlier this year, NorthStar Ford facilitated Drive 4 UR School test drive events for Father Mercredi Community High School and Holy Trinity Catholic High School. For every test drive conducted at the events, Ford Motor Company donated $20, earning the two schools a combined grand total of $4,840. The money is being used to aid in programs that aid each schools' students.
Marty Giles, dealer principal at NorthStar Ford Group, said, "It was great to support these two causes. One of the core values of NorthStar Ford is that we must support the communities that support us. With Ford's help, we were able to do so financially, but I want to make sure that people know that our team volunteered their time on two separate days off to do this. We work six days a week at NorthStar, so our sales team for two weeks this summer worked 13 days straight in order to be able to support these causes. That shows commitment to the community with our feet and not just our mouths. Bravo!"
