NorthStar Ford Group Canada Raises More Than $102,000 for Alberta Charities From 4th Annual Charity Poker Tournament

FORT MCMURRAY, AB--(Marketwired - May 1, 2015) - NorthStar Ford Group Canada raised $102,851.11 at the 4th Annual NorthStar Ford Charity Poker Tournament on March 15, 2015. The proceeds were split in half between the Northern Lights Health Foundation and the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation.

Mary Giles, dealer principal of NorthStar Ford Group, said, "We are so grateful to our sponsors, players and donors for making this tournament a success once again. Our health care professionals have an incredibly tough job, and we are more than happy to do our small part to give them the best tools we can to do their jobs."

The Northern Lights Health Foundation and the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation were presented with their cheques for $51,000 on April 8 and April 20 respectively. The Northern Lights Health Foundation plans on using the funds to research and provide enhancements to palliative care services in the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre. The funds will also go towards continuing innovative research, world-class expertise and family-centred programs.
