Food Safety Facts for Turkey and Salmonella Food Safety Facts Attention: Food/Beverage Editor, Health/Medical Editor, Lifestyle Editor, Media Editor, News Editor OTTAWA / ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 4, 2005) - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is issuing two fact sheets: Food Safety Facts for Turkey and Salmonella Food Safety Facts to inform Canadian consumers about food safety issues when handling and preparing food. Whether you're cooking turkey or any other food, safe food handling, cooking and storage practices are essential.

It's important to always follow safe food handling practices when making food for yourself, your family and your friends. Follow the simple tips outlined in the fact sheets to avoid foodborne illness and make your Thanksgiving "food safe".
