Nova Scotia Business Leaders Vitalized at the Arrival of TEC Canada

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwire - March 1, 2012) - TEC Canada's vision to accelerate the growth and advancement of Canadian business through professional development and executive mentoring will now be a part of the fabric of Halifax business leaders. Joe Gillivan, TEC Canada Chair, will celebrate the official launch of the Nova Scotia chapter in March 2012.

"The time for this organization is key," affirms Gillivan, as the face of business is evolving in Nova Scotia. "With the changing economy, the opportunities that lie ahead with the shipbuilding contract and the need for immigration in our province, TEC provides an unparalleled opportunity for key business leaders to hone their skills, work collaboratively and become stronger leaders. Learning from each other will in turn will benefit our province tremendously and help our leaders be world class at leading their people in a changing dynamic environment," asserts Gillivan.

Business leaders from across Atlantic Canada came together for a special TEC Canada event on February 24th in Halifax featuring TED, Pop!Tech and the Fortune Innovation Summit speaker Tom Wujec. A thought-leader and award-winning innovator who works with the Fortune 500 to foster innovation practices at all stages, Wujec explored business visualization as a means of creating more successful organizations.

Andrew Oland, President of Moosehead Breweries Limited, found Wujec's perspective refreshing. "As a three year member of TEC 390 I very much enjoyed Tom Wujec's presentation as it was thought provoking and useful. TEC forces busy business leaders such as myself to take a step back and focus on opportunities and challenges in their organization in a manner we often do not have the time or take the time to do."

The experience that Oland and fellow attendees shared at the Wujec event is augmented on a monthly basis in TEC meetings that feature a series of guest speakers, mentorship from experienced business leaders and a drive towards shared success. The Nova Scotia TEC Canada chapter continues to accept new members.
