Nova Uranium Corporation: Drilling Underway on Dyke 18 Complex

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 11, 2006) - Nova Uranium (TSX VENTURE:NUC) is pleased to report that drilling is in progress on its Mont Laurier property. Nova's Phase Two drill program consists of a minimum of 2,500 m of inclined drillholes focused on the recently discovered near-vertical uranium-enriched Dyke 18 Complex.

The discovery of the near-vertical Dyke 18 complex has opened up new exploration opportunities for Nova. In addition to exploring flat-lying targets Nova will also be targeting vertical pegmatite dykes, a new approach to exploration in the area that is already producing positive results.

Recent detailed surface work, including stripping and power washing of radioactive outcrops, detailed geological mapping and rock channel sampling, has shown that the original Dyke 18 (discovered by vertical drillhole NV06-18) is part of a much larger complex of up to six vertically-oriented dykes, which trend east-west and individually vary in width from about 1.0 to 15.0 metres (as indicated on surface outcrops). The Dyke 18 Complex has an estimated width ranging from 100 to 150 metres and strike length of at least 750 metres (open to both the west and the east). In addition to the Main Dyke 18 Complex, a parallel radioactive dyke has been found approximately 200 meters to the North.

Uranium mineralization discovered in Nova's drillhole NV06-18, the most significant drillhole to date on the property, encountered values of 1.96 pounds per ton (0.098%) U3O8 over a core length of 23.38 metres (true width unknown) including 7.45 metres of 4.17 pounds per ton (0.209%) U3O8. The 7.45 metre section contained pitchblende, a form of uranium mineralization not previously noted in the area.

Currently, Nova is conducting a comprehensive examination of the historical Tom Dick uranium showings and has been granted a permit to build drill roads.
