AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - Nov 26, 2012) - For a second year in a row, Novotus employees give back to their local community food bank and show what a big difference a small company can make. The company's annual food drive, held by 93 Novotus employees, yielded 5,362 pounds or over two and a half tons of food for the local Capital Area Food Bank of Texas.
After donating almost a ton of food last year, Novotus employees set their sights on breaking their record. Once again by making the initiative a friendly competition between departments to collect the most pounds of food, they motivated each other to give even more this year. The winning team alone donated 1,953 pounds, surpassing last year's donation of 1,910 pounds.
"It's heartbreaking to think of how many local Austin residents, including children, go to bed hungry each night," stated Mike Mayeux, Founder and CEO. "We are a blessed organization and I am incredibly proud of our employees and their generosity. Giving back to our community will continue to be a priority at Novotus."
