The newest milestone in A&W's Ingredients Guarantee, to give Canadians what they want by offering the best possible food ingredients, is actually a beverage! The Canadian restaurant chain - known for revolutionizing the fast food industry by becoming the first national quick service restaurant (QSR) to introduce beef raised without the use of hormones or steroids; chicken raised without the use of antibiotics and eggs from hens fed a vegetarian diet without animal by-products - is now the first QSR to exclusively offer its customers organic, Fair Trade coffee!

The brewed coffee is exclusively blended and roasted for A&W by Montreal-based master roaster Van Houtte. The lively 100% Arabica, organic, Fair Trade blend is rich and full bodied in taste and always served fresh. Together with any of A&W's range of fresh-to-order breakfast offerings, it is the perfect start to any morning.

"We began our Ingredients Guarantee journey in 2013 with the launch of beef raised without the use of hormones or steroids. Customer feedback was so extraordinary, with sales up by more than 10%, we were inspired to make other significant changes to our ingredients," says Susan Senecal, Chief Marketing Officer at A&W. "Coffee became a priority for us when our customers kept telling us how much they loved our new eggs, but wanted a better cup of coffee. Through extensive taste and quality testing, it became clear that organic coffee was a winner among our customers, so we partnered with Van Houtte to provide it."

Every A&W breakfast begins with freshly cracked eggs, farmed right here in Canada.

Tastes like Home

For those that enjoy a traditional home-style breakfast, A&W offers classic Canadian breakfasts with eggs made however you like them, and omelettes two ways. Served on a china plate, with real cutlery, breakfast never tasted so delicious - with no pots or pans or dishes to wash!

Breakfast on the Run

For those eating on the run, the Bacon n'Egger, Cheese n'Egger, Sausage n'Egger or Breakfast Wrap are all great options. Each is a wholesome, tasty breakfast to fuel your morning in one convenient package, served on a freshly toasted English muffin, seeded bun or flour wrap.

About A&W Ingredients Guarantee

While you can't always believe everything you see in advertising, A&W TV commercials are as real as their ingredients - completely unscripted, with Allen the Manager approaching real and unsuspecting Canadians on the street to ask their opinions of A&W's various menu items.

What began in 2013 with beef raised without the use of hormones or steroids, has paved the way for chicken, eggs and now organic, Fair Trade coffee. Consumer reaction has been extremely positive, and the mission of serving better ingredients continues with A&W's classic onion rings, sweet potato fries, tomatoes and even packaging being upgraded to improve quality and respect for the environment.

"Nothing is more rewarding than hearing our customers say how much they like the new ingredients we have been able to provide," adds Senecal. "With this new coffee we know we have another excellent product and we'll be raising a cup of organic, Fair Trade coffee this week to celebrate."
