NPL (Net Power & Light) Names Michael Harper Vice President of Sales

Seasoned Start Up Executive Will Oversee Growing B2B Sales Organization

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 6, 2015) - NPL (Net Power & Light, Inc.), a leader in delivering rich, video-based collaboration apps for the mobile and web world, has named Michael Harper as its new VP of Sales.

NPL's end-to-end Spin platform delivers videoconferencing, information collaboration and application sharing backend for web and mobile developers. Spin's developer tools and APIs allow organizations to build Spin directly into their website or mobile applications to enable a seamless, high-quality video collaboration experience for their customers.

Michael Harper will oversee all aspects of NPL's revenue growth including direct enterprise sales, channel development and professional services. An award-winning sales executive, he has more than 25 years of experience advancing go-to-market strategies for cloud, open source, SaaS and enterprise application solutions, and has been instrumental in successfully positioning start-ups for IPOs, venture investment, mergers/acquisitions, and global market expansion in the U.S. and abroad.

Most recently, Harper served as director of data center automation sales at BMC Software. Previous to that, he was with VMware responsible for assisting in the growth company's cloud partner ecosystem. Prior to VMware, he was vice president of worldwide sales and alliances for WaveMaker Software (acquired by VMware in 2011), where he managed revenue and partnership programs for enterprise direct, resellers, OEMs, integrators and professional services. Harper has also held strategic sales positions at companies including Sendmail, Persistence Software, Dun & Bradstreet Software and EMC.

Harper holds a BBA in marketing and international business from The University of Texas at Austin. In addition to enjoying time with his family, Harper volunteers for Austin Children's Services and the American Red Cross.
