NQ Planning to Sample Recovered Drill Core for Eight Holes Drilled by BHP Billiton in the 1990s: Carheil Project, Selbaie District

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - May 17, 2011) -NQ Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:NQE) is pleased to report that it has recovered the drill core from old holes drilled by BHP Billiton in the 1990s but only partially sampled, even in areas of silver enrichment.

Based on the results received to date for the last drilling program, there is increasing evidence that the silver-rich zones intercepted over the past two years (see earlier press releases) at the Nordest showing on the CARHEIL property are still present and high grade near surface. This new evidence has prompted the NQ exploration team to have another look at old drill core. The core is from eight short holes drilled by BHP Billiton between 1993 and 1998, and was previously only partially sampled. The drill core has since been stored in Matagami at the Société de Développement de la Baie-James, the then-owner of the Carheil property.

These holes were drilled to a maximum depth of less than 200 metres, and were more than 100 metres apart. The best grade obtained at the time was from Hole B-1098, which returned 1.16% Zn and 39.7 g/t Ag over a 14.1-metre section of core. None of the holes were sampled systematically within the felsic mineralized unit. With the experience gained in the past two years, it is now known that the high-grade silver zones are not necessarily related to the zones strongly mineralized in polymetallic sulphide veinlets within the alteration chimney, hence the need for systematic sampling.

The review and addition sampling will complete the near-surface database and lead to a better understanding of the mineralized zones of the Nordest showing, which is increasingly showing strong potential for the development of silver-rich zones over seven metres wide and gold-rich zones more than five metres wide.

This work will be done in the coming weeks, and the additional results should be received in June, when the Company plans to start another drilling program of several thousand metres to delineate the mineralized zone between surface and 200 metres vertical depth.
