nuBridges Announces New Version of Controlled Substance Ordering System (CSOS) Software

Enhanced Software Further Streamlines Movement From Paper-Based Ordering to DEA-Compliant Electronic Processing

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - February 26, 2008) - Secure eBusiness expert nuBridges announced today the availability of nuBridges Controlled Substance Ordering System (CSOS) version 4.3.1 featuring customer-requested capabilities, streamlined installation, enhanced documentation and support for Microsoft Vista and Internet Explorer 7.

Certified by The Drummond Group, nuBridges CSOS creates a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)-compliant electronic equivalent of the paper Form 222 (e222), supports digital signatures, and provides a seamless, secure, reliable foundation for managing controlled substance transactions among the DEA and buyers and suppliers in the pharmaceutical supply chain. nuBridges CSOS dramatically expedites the order process and eliminates paper-based manual processing that is estimated to cost the industry more than $30 per transaction.

nuBridges CSOS includes server software installed at the controlled substance supplier's site that can be accessed by buyer endpoints (typically pharmacies). The software provides all the security, workflow, auditing, and reporting requirements needed for CSOS transactions, plus easy integration with existing order processing and EDI environments.

nuBridges CSOS customers were surveyed in Q4 2007 and asked to rank two dozen potential features they would like to see in a future release. Customer participation was strong and resulted in the top five ranked features being added to nuBridges CSOS v4.3.1.

"I'm happy to report that nuBridges CSOS v4.3.1 is a true reflection of what our customers want," said Meredith Russell, product manager for nuBridges. "We believe in letting customers actively participate in driving product enhancements."

In addition to customer-directed features, nuBridges CSOS v4.3.1 also includes a new installation wizard that makes it even easier to install the software, and new product documentation that helps users be more self-sufficient, especially when integrating nuBridges CSOS with existing back-end systems.

"We also surveyed our customer support staff to find out what questions our customers were asking most frequently and we included the answers in the new documentation," said Russell. "Our intent is to make the integration process as easy as possible by addressing these common questions up front and including plenty of detail along with relevant examples."

The new version is generally available for shipment.
