Nucleus Medical Media YouTube Channel Surpasses the 200,000 Subscriber Mark

Popular Online Source of Medical Animations Reaches More People Than Mayo Clinic, Doctor Oz, and CDC Combined 

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - January 05, 2015) - Nucleus Medical Media is proud to announce that its YouTube channel, which features the company's medical animations, recently exceeded 200,000 subscribers. The same channel received Google's Silver Play Button award less than a year ago when it reached 100,000 subscribers.

The Nucleus YouTube channel was started in February 2007. It now features over 370 animations, including frequently viewed topics like childbirth, oncology, and diabetes. The channel's videos have been watched a combined 191,000,000 times -- that's an estimated 202 years spent watching Nucleus animations.

Nucleus has been very successful on YouTube, especially when compared to other health-related channels. Remarkably, the Mayo Clinic's YouTube channel has only 24,200 subscribers, Doctor Oz's channel has only 76,600, and the CDC's channel has only 24,600. These three channels were created around the same time as the Nucleus channel, and they have uploaded more videos (Mayo Clinic alone has over 3,000 videos). However, they have not reached the same level of viewership.

Nucleus CEO Ron Collins attributes the channel's strong viewership and high subscription rate to the nature of the content produced at Nucleus, "Consumers with health concerns want to see an accurate representation of their condition, disease, or upcoming diagnostic procedure presented in an objective way." He adds, "Most other health-related sites routinely use patients or physicians to tell the story and [those videos] become somewhat unrelatable."
