Nurses Lounge Awards $1,000 Scholarships to Eight Nursing Schools

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - Jan 30, 2014) - Nurses Lounge, Inc, an online professional network for nurses (nurseslounge.com) and wholly-owned subsidiary of MedCAREERS Group, Inc. ("MCGI" or the "Company") (OTCQB: MCGI), a development stage company, announced today that eight bachelors of science in nursing (BSN) schools each were awarded $1,000 scholarship checks. The scholarships were offered in exchange for expediting their participation and membership in the Nurses Lounge as a more efficient way to communicate news and information to students, alumni and the broader nursing profession. The schools are: St. John Fisher College, Rochester, NY; Bloomfield College, Bloomfield, NJ: William Paterson University, Wayne, NJ; Nazareth College, Rochester, NY; Misericordia University, Dallas, PA; Indiana University Kokomo; University of St. Francis, Fort Wayne, IN; and Chaminade University, Honolulu.

"We were delighted to send checks to each of these schools," said Tim Armes, the president and CEO of MedCAREERS GROUP, Inc. and founder of Nurses Lounge. "Our scholarship program was created as an incentive to eligible BSN schools to join and use our network while providing financial help to some deserving students." He added that as part of the program, the school must place the "NL" icon on its website (similar to Facebook and Twitter, for example) linking to its interactive lounge page, and within 30 days, must have a minimum of 100 members in its Lounge.

"The beauty of Nurses Lounge is how easy it is to use. We set up a Lounge page and provide a 'join' link that the Dean emails in an invitation to students, alumni and faculty. The email explains our service, and once someone clicks the link and registers by creating a professional profile, the student is automatically placed in the school's interactive lounge.

"As members, the students then create a professional network with fellow students and alumni as well as join other interactive lounges created by various organizations such as associations and employers. When news and information is posted, the student receives an instant email alert. They can comment and ask questions via a professional profile versus a social profile," Armes added.

Armes says that there are an additional five schools that are close to earning scholarships and, based on the success to date, expects to expand the offer to additional BSN schools that are interested.
