Nurun Inc. Chosen by SAQ to Modernize its Transactional Web Site

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - May 1, 2007) - Nurun Inc. (TSX:NUR), a Quebecor Media Inc. company, is proud to announce that it will proceed with the technological modernization of the Societe des alcools du Quebec (SAQ) transactional Web site ( This $2.5 million contract confirms Nurun's leadership position with regard to B2C electronic commerce and new information and communication technologies (NICT).

A major project that takes on a strategic character for the SAQ

For Nurun, the project consists of implementing a new technological platform based on IBM's electronic commerce solution.

"This project will enable the SAQ to take back control of its infrastructures on a new technological foundation, to reduce its annual maintenance costs, and to become independent with regard to the maintenance and evolution of the Internet site," said Bernard Robitaille, executive vice president, Nurun.

Nurun will also draw on its technological expertise in implementation, specifically its suite of Java applications, SOFI. This suite of applications can be compared to a tool box that enables the company to complete and accelerate the development of transactional Web applications.

"Renewal of the technological platform enables us to manage the evolution of the site more rapidly and with greater flexibility," said Benoit Durand, vice president of Information Resources at the SAQ.
