Nutritionist and Wearable in One: App and Activity Tracker Learn Habits, Tell Users How Much to Eat, Sleep and Move

Health App and Activity Tracker Leverage Intelligent Algorithm to Learn User Behaviors and Provide Actionable Insights

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jul 9, 2014) - Today Stonecrysus debuts the market's first intelligent wearable activity tracker and health app. Launched on Kickstarter this morning, Stonecrysus is designed to easily track user habits and provide recommendations for efficient and sustainable health goal achievement. By collecting more than 35 data points, Stonecrysus monitors activity, meals and sleep. Through its intelligent algorithm, Stonecrysus is able to learn how specific activities and foods uniquely affect the user's health to produce real-time feedback and instruction.

Developed by an MD, Stonecrysus's software analyzes individual habits to determine how lifestyle impacts each user's health. In addition to collecting data about activity, food intake, and sleep, Stonecrysus calculates each user's Basic Internal Requirements Needed (BIRN) -- Stonecrysus's metabolism equivalent. Stonecrysus analyzes 35 data points to generate daily dietary, fitness and sleep requirements. Whether a user's goal is to lose weight, gain muscle or simply maintain health, if all daily targets met, the user will make progress towards his or her health goal. This unique system ensures that particular factors that affect individual health are taken into account.

Stonecrysus's wearable component, the Stone, tracks activity and sleep. The Stone does not merely measure steps, but takes the type and required effort of the activity into account. The Stone can be carried in the pocket, clipped to the user's clothing or worn around the neck, wrist or ankle. Dietary information is tracked through the Stonecrysus app which allows users to visually create their meal, eliminating the need to track calories and monitor nutrition facts.

"I started working on Stonecrysus with my dad, Dr. David Landers, a well-known cardiologist, nearly five years ago," said Matt Landers, CEO of Stonecyrus. "The intelligent algorithm we've developed is going to change the game not just for consumers, but for health practioners. We believe that if we are to make significant progress in the healthcare industry, we cannot treat the population as monolithic; we cannot approach innovation with a 'one-size-fits-all' perspective. That's why we've developed a system that that learns the unique needs of each individual user."

All of the vital health information gathered by Stonecrysus can be seamlessly shared with a user's doctor, trainer, nutritionist or any other health practitioner. Anyone with access to the platform can monitor and evaluate data, send instant reminders, or revise their patients' health goals. In addition to aiding individual results, Stonecrysus plans to leverage its platform by anonymously analyzing collected data to report health trends and to discover correlations between specific stimuli and health events.

Optionally, a user can purchase the Stonecrysus Weightless Scale. Having to face the scale is one of the most common hesitations in pursuit of a health goal. With the Weightless Scale, a user will not see a number. Instead the user's weight change will be represented by a green, yellow, or red dot on the Stonecrysus app. A green dot represents progress towards the user's goal, a yellow dot means no change in weight, and a red dot indicates regression from the user's goal.
