The GTX 960 series features high clock speeds, insane over-clock speeds, and top-tier total combined memory speeds -- as high as 7,010 MHz. These new cards will feature a Maxwell infrastructure, which used a smaller die (almost 30% smaller than previous models) and fewer transistors and still boosted the speed almost 12% over its competitors. The NVIDIA 960 series is sure to be a showcase for peak performance in mid-range cards, and is likely to be the centerpiece for do-it-yourself kit modders and base desktop builders.
The cards will also include DirectCU II Technology and 0 dB Technology for faster heat dissipation and quieter performance, ensuring the cards run up to 30% cooler and three times quieter than previous versions. The over-clock capability of the cards will boost game performance by as much as 12% over previous versions in the series. A five-phase, super-alloy power supply ensures 30% less power noise, and almost triple the lifespan for long-term gaming. Certain GTX 960 models can even reach a maximum 5120 x 3200 digital resolution via dual DisplayPort connectors.
NVIDIA stays ahead of the game by continually advancing the technology of computer graphics cards. This new 960 series of cards should keep them at the top of wish lists for months to come.
With 2GB of GDDR5 vRAM and a GPU that's factory overclocked to 1228 MHz, the ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 960 Graphics Card allows for an improved overall gaming experience.
