Nyx Dimensions Inc. Receives $70,000 Contribution From Government of Canada to Improve its Productivity

JONQUIERE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 1, 2009) - The Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of National Revenue and Minister of State (Agriculture and Agri-Food), speaking on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, today announced a $70,000 repayable contribution to Nyx Dimensions Inc. This financial assistance, provided under the Competitiveness of SMEs component of the Business and Regional Growth program, will enable the firm to acquire a long-range 3D digitizer, and to retain the services of a consultant to enhance its internal management processes. The project will generate $439,388 in investment and create seven jobs in the next three years.

"The only Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean enterprise operating in the field of 3D digitization, Nyx Dimensions has posted strong growth since its founding in 2006," stated Minister Blackburn. "In order to maintain its momentum, this SME is to purchase a long-range 3D digitizer. Canada Economic Development has chosen to provide financial support for the project, since acquisition of this device will enable Nyx Dimensions to increase its productivity and competitiveness. In the current economic downturn, we consider it important to support a company that is offering a unique service in the region and which, at the same time, is contributing to the economy and job creation."

Founded in 2006, Nyx Dimensions has a team boasting several years' experience in the field of 3D digitization. The purchase of its own digitizer will afford the enterprise greater autonomy and save on rental fees. The firm will also retain greater control over equipment maintenance and the quality of the data generated by this more state-of-the-art device, thus leading to optimization of its service offering.

Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program seeks to help businesses improve their performance, become more competitive and engage more heavily in innovation in order to facilitate their sustainable growth.
