O, The Oprah Magazine Recognizes Luxury Living Savannah Owner Tammy Jo Long's Creative and Stylistic Approach to Restoring Historic Mansions

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Sep 7, 2011) - For Chicagoan Tammy Jo Long, it was love at first sight when she visited the charming town of Savannah, Georgia nearly a decade ago. Long especially became fond of Savannah's historic architecture and purchased a Victorian mansion there. That love grew into a profitable and successful business for Tammy Jo who eventually bought four more mansions and turned her passion for historic home renovations into a profitable vacation rental business, Luxury Living Savannah. Long and her business are featured in the August September 2011 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine titled "Right at Home, Women Who Make Beautiful Things: How the South's most charming city sparked a renovator's passion for the past." Please see the attached article and click on this link for more information.

"It is an honor to be in Oprah's magazine because Oprah is a self-made woman and she focuses on the strengths of women and helps them achieve success," said Long. "The fact that Oprah's team thought what I had created with my business was worth sharing with women around the world means so much."

O, The Oprah Magazine spotlighted Long's exquisite attention to detail when it comes to restoring 1800s mansions in Savannah, including the Forsyth Park Mansion, built in 1871, that took Long 18 months to restore, and her flagship property, Wedding Cake Mansion, where she refurbished beautiful wooden floors in the parlor that were hidden under five layers of linoleum.

While Savannah is where Long started her business, she does expect to take the concept to new cities over the next couple of years, including Chicago where she is considering purchasing a high-rise condo and a vintage home as the next generation of Luxury Living rental properties, as well as a farmhouse in Italy and a flat in Paris.

"One of the criteria for a city to be considered as part of the Luxury Living portfolio is it has to have great food because I love to eat where I work! Italy, Paris, and Chicago are certainly well-known food cities," said Long.

Each of Luxury Living Savannah's mansions have been perfectly restored to their original grandeur and updated with modern amenities such as gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances and luxurious bathrooms with whirlpool tubs.
