Oak Valley Community Bank Elects New Director

OAKDALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 31, 2006 -- Ronald C. Martin, CEO of Oak Valley Community Bank (OTCBB: OVYB), announced the appointment of Don Barton to the Board of Directors. The existing members of the Board of Directors approved Barton's appointment at their regular meeting on July 18, 2006.

Barton is the managing partner at GoldRiver Orchards, a local walnut processing operation. The Barton family has orchards in Ripon, Riverbank and Escalon. He is a member of the California Walnut Handlers Association, the Walnut Marketing Board and an Academic Booster for Oakdale High School.

Barton lives in Oakdale with his wife Jan. They have three grown boys and are members of Mill Creek Church in Modesto. He is a Stanford graduate and earned his MBA from Santa Clara University.

"Don was a very active member of our Ripon and Escalon Advisory Boards and his knowledge of agri-business in our valley will be a real plus to our Board," stated Ron Martin, CEO.
