Oak Valley Community Bank Elects New Director

OAKDALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 17, 2007 -- Ronald C. Martin, CEO of Oak Valley Community Bank, (OTCBB: OVYB) announced the appointment of Chris Courtney to the Board of Directors. The existing members of the Board of Directors approved Courtney's appointment at their regular meeting on January 16, 2007.

Courtney is the President of Oak Valley Community Bank and has been in this position since 2004. Following the announcement, Courtney commented, "I am honored by the appointment and take very seriously the bank's obligation to its customers, shareholders and employees. "I have had the good fortune of growing with the bank and witnessing, first-hand, our impact on the communities we serve and the value we have created for our shareholders." Courtney previously served as the bank's Chief Credit Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He joined the bank over 10 years ago as a commercial lending officer, not long after the bank opened its second branch.

Courtney, a Turlock native, now lives in Oakdale with his wife Kristi and two daughters. He is a member of Oakdale Rotary Club, the California State University Stanislaus Business Advisory Board and a board member for Habitat for Humanity of Stanislaus County. He enjoys golf and is an avid cyclist.

Courtney earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Masters in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento. He is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.
