Oakland Raiders Have Lowest Average Ticket Price in NFL

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT--(Marketwired - Aug 5, 2015) - The Oakland Raiders currently have the lowest average ticket price in the NFL for the upcoming season. According to's study on NFL prices, tickets to see the Raiders at the Coliseum sell for an average price of $92. This is down from the 2014 season, when the average price for a ticket to a Raiders home game was $127, a difference of 28%.

There is also significant variation among average ticket prices depending on opponent. The Raiders game with the lowest average price is against the New York Jets on November 1, where tickets are averaging $51. On the other end of the spectrum, the average price to see the Raiders face off against the Green Bay Packers on December 20 is $135, a whopping 165% difference in average ticket price between the two games.

Last season, the Oakland Raiders had their worst record since the 2006 season and haven't had a record over .500 since 2002, which may be a contributing factor as to why ticket prices have fallen for the upcoming NFL season.

Also, in recent years, it's been no secret the franchise has also been in talks of relocating to either San Antonio, TX or Los Angeles, CA if they cannot land a new stadium in Oakland. "The fact that the Raiders are ready to pack up and leave Oakland doesn't sit well with devoted fans who already had to endure their absence during the '80s and early '90s," says Jordan Wells, Sports Specialist with "This could very well be affecting ticket demand and pricing."

However, with new head coach Jack Del Rio, the re-signing of defensive end C.J. Wilson, and the addition of defensive tackle Dan Williams, the Raiders are shaping up to be a better team than they have been over the past decade. In addition, talks between the franchise, the NFL, and local officials regarding a new stadium in Oakland have also been heating up, which would secure the team's presence in the Bay Area.
