O.A.R. Set to Kick Off New Year With Winter Tour; January Dates Include Return to Madison Square Garden; All-New "Heard the World" EP Hits iTunes on November 14th

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 14, 2006 -- Everfine/Lava/Atlantic recording group O.A.R. has announced details of its upcoming winter tour. The January 2007 concert dates will culminate in a much-anticipated return to New York's world-famous Madison Square Garden, a venue the band sold out earlier this year. O.A.R.'s winter trek will kick off on Thursday, January 18th at Cincinnati's US Bank Arena, then hit the road for shows in Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Virginia (see attached itinerary). The tour, which will also feature support act Gomez, will conclude in New York City on Saturday, January 27th. Tickets for all dates will go on sale December 2nd.

The Maryland-via-Ohio-based band -- which recently reached a milestone moment in their extraordinary career, achieving cumulative record sales in excess of 1.2 million -- has also unveiled details of "HEARD THE WORLD," an all-new iTunes-exclusive EP. Released today, November 14th, the EP features four previously unreleased tracks: a radio edit of the Hot AC hit title track -- originally found on 2005's "STORIES OF A STRANGER" -- as well as an acoustic take on the top 20 Hot AC smash, "Love and Memories," a demo version of "Lay Down," and a live rendition of "Heard The World," recorded at New York's Nokia Theatre last October.

In other O.A.R. news, the band's companion video clip for "Lay Down" has just been honored with the "Streaming Woodie" -- presented to the year's Most Downloaded Video -- at this year's mtvU Woodie Awards.

Since their formation in 1996, O.A.R. has blazed a unique grass-roots trail across America through a never-say-die work ethic, near-constant touring, and a truly inimitable musical vision. With their distinct rock-meets-reggae groove, fiery improvisations, and introspective, heartfelt lyricism, the band has earned themselves a fervent fan following from coast to coast.

O.A.R. self-released their debut album, "THE WANDERER," in 1997, followed two years later with the live studio recording, "SOULS AFLAME." The band's third release, "RISEN," arrived in February 2001 and debuted at #11 on Billboard's "Internet Sales" chart and #66 on the "Top New Artists" ranking.

In 2002, the double-live album "ANY TIME NOW" was released, followed by the band's acclaimed Everfine/Lava debut, "IN BETWEEN NOW AND THEN" in 2003. A second two-CD in-concert recording, "34TH & 8TH," was issued in 2004.

Released last October, "STORIES OF A STRANGER" has proven to be the band's greatest success to date. The collection includes a pair of Hot AC hits in "Love and Memories" and "Heard The World," as well as the video favorite, "Lay Down."

O.A.R. is: singer/guitarist Marc Roberge, lead guitarist Richard On, bassist Benj Gershman, drummer Chris Culos, and saxophonist Jerry DePizzo.
