ObjectVideo and Hisilicon Team to Show Embedded Video Analytics at China Exhibition

13th China Public Security Exhibition 2011 (CPSE) Chosen as Venue to Show the Newest Innovation in Delivering Analytics on an ARM-Based Technology Platform

SHENZHEN, CHINA and RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - Oct 26, 2011) - ObjectVideo®, the leader in intelligent video, and Hisilicon Technology Co., Ltd. announced the two companies have jointly developed a demonstration of ObjectVideo's patented analytics technology on the Hi3516 SoC (system on a chip) platform manufactured by Hisilicon which utilizes an ARM Cortex-A9 processor as its primary chip. The demonstration will be shown at Hisilicon's booth, #A537 in Hall 1 at the 13th China Public Security Exhibition in Shenzhen, October 29 to November 1, 2011.

"ObjectVideo is very pleased to be working with Hisilicon on this very important demo collaboration," said Raul Fernandez, CEO for ObjectVideo. "They understand that market demand for reliable intelligent video surveillance (IVS) will drive manufacturers' product sales, and this ARM-based platform from Hisilicon represents the next wave for embedded analytics."

"I'm very pleased that ObjectVideo has worked with us to enable its IVS capabilities on the Hisilicon Hi3516," said Fengguo Yang, director of Hisilicon's surveillance product line. "With Hisilicon's solid platform and Objectvideo's innovative software, customers will be able to create many intelligent devices, such as intelligent IP cameras, DVRs and NVRs."

Hisilicon and ObjectVideo, two market leaders, have teamed to increase the value of IVS in the video surveillance market because:

  • Hisilicon's latest generation of SoCs include a built-in ARM Cortex A9 processor plus a dedicated programmable IVS hardware acceleration engine.
  • It will now be more economical for OEMs to build and support IVS products because hardware and bill-of-material costs are dramatically reduced.
  • ObjectVideo's communication protocol -- OV Ready -- makes it easier for OEMs to deploy and support ARM-based IVS products and solutions in the digital IP surveillance marketplace.
