Obsidian Software Awards Processor Verification Scholarship

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - November 15, 2010) - Obsidian Software, an EDA company focused on processor verification, is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2010 MTVCon Scholarship Program. The scholarship provides conference registration fees, airfare and hotel accommodations for several students across the country to attend the 11th Annual International Workshop on Microprocessor Test and Verification in Austin, Texas.

The scholarship is but one component of Obsidian's University Connections program, which seeks to provide employment assistance and networking resources for students performing academic research and recent graduates working in the fields of processor design and verification.

"In today's global economy, finding qualified talent is becoming increasingly difficult," said Eric Hennenhoefer, President of Obsidian Software. "Processor verification is a highly complex subset of electrical and computer engineering that requires years of rigorous study. Our University Connections program generates interest in the field while also putting us in front of the best and brightest new talent."

One such student is Patricia Lee, who is currently working on high-level simulation based validation in the Computer Science PhD program at the University of California, Irvine. Lee says that by attending the conference she hopes to learn about current trends in formal verification and simulation-based validation techniques for pre-silicon validation. "I would also like to hear about collaborative efforts that may be available in my area of study and become more involved in the industry though networking."
