OCBC and OC Forum Host Congressman Kevin McCarthy

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 13, 2012) - Orange County Business Council and Orange County Forum will host an exclusive roundtable luncheon with Congressman Kevin McCarthy (CA-22), July 16 at The Center Club in Costa Mesa, sponsored by Allergan. Congressman McCarthy will join business leaders and public officials for an enlightening discussion on the latest from Washington, D.C., how to regain America's global competitive edge, and what should be done to get America back to work.

Congressman McCarthy is the Majority Whip of the United States House of Representatives, having served in that position since 2010. As Majority Whip, Congressman McCarthy works to advance common-sense policies designed to encourage economic growth and job creation in America, restore accountability and transparency in government, and ensure that tax dollars are spent more wisely.

Since gaining control of the House in November 2010, Congressman McCarthy and his Republican colleagues have blocked the largest tax increase in American history, cut government spending and passed numerous pieces of legislation that will help create jobs in America. These bills reduce the burden on small businesses, increase the nation's energy security by promoting domestic energy production, knock down barriers for small business owners to access capital, and help increase certainty for the private sector. As a former small business owner, Congressman McCarthy is committed to policies that give businesses and entrepreneurs the confidence they need to hire, expand, invest and innovate.
