OCCU-TEC and 360training Introduce the Country's First Accredited Online Asbestos Inspector Training Program

KANSAS CITY, MO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 7, 2007 -- OCCU-TEC and 360training (http://www.360training.com) today announced the collaborative partnership that has resulted in the release of the environmental industry's first online EPA Asbestos Inspector Refresher training course.

The four-hour course, which complies with EPA's Model Accreditation Program (MAP), was jointly created by OCCU-TEC and 360training and has been conditionally accredited by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Air Pollution Control Program (APCP). The course is geared towards asbestos inspectors who need to fulfill annual refresher training requirements.

The Asbestos Inspector Refresher course reviews the relationship between asbestos exposure and the potential health effects, in addition to certification requirements for building inspectors and the basic elements of a thorough building inspection.

"We are excited to be the first to offer asbestos inspectors an alternative to classroom training for their annual refresher training requirement," stated Jeff Leiken, senior vice president, 360training. "In conjunction with OCCU-TEC, we have created the asbestos industry's first innovative e-learning alternative, which is based upon time-tested methods we've successfully developed with regulatory agencies throughout the years," added Leiken.

"OCCU-TEC has served as a consultant and trainer for the asbestos industry since the EPA 'Asbestos in Schools Rule' initiated the movement in the early 1980s," said Greg Malmgren, director of marketing, OCCU-TEC. "It's very rewarding to realize a long overdue need within the industry and to be able to deliver a real solution, in partnership with 360training, that will benefit asbestos inspectors in Missouri and hopefully across the country in terms of financial savings and convenience."

OCCU-TEC and 360training collaborated over a period of several months with a team of in-house technical specialists along with regulators to complete the online refresher course.

"This monumental task could not have been accomplished without the open-mindedness and support of the Missouri APCP and EPA Region VII," said Malmgren. "Representatives from both organizations were terrific to work with and we owe them our thanks and gratitude."

Reciprocity may be granted for completion of the four-hour APCP-approved course, which is available through OCCU-TEC (www.occutec.com), 360training or any participating educational partners.

Although OCCU-TEC and 360training plan to release additional online asbestos refresher courses in the future, specific plans were not made available.
