OC's Biggest Music Festival Just Got Better

Star-Studded Playground Festival Announces Free After-Party at Yost Theater; Lindsay Lohan, Pete Wentz Among Concert Attendees

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 2, 2011) - The Playground Festival, Orange County's newest and largest music event with over 200 of the country's top acts and emerging artists, is kicking it up a notch with a free, VIP after-party at OC's hottest new venue: The Yost Theater. And, if that wasn't enough, celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan and Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz are confirmed festival guests.

The Playground Festival's Coachella-like craziness gets started at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3. Then, at 8:30 p.m., the after-party starts at the recently reopened Yost Theater in Santa Ana. Doors open to the public at 10 p.m. and the party rages until 2 a.m.

All festival attendees with wristbands (and 21 years old and older) will be granted free admission long before the general public. The night will feature Yost Theater's "Show," with DJ duo Lazrtag, aerialists, contortionists, break dancers, stilt-walkers, burlesque dancers, gymnasts, magicians and more.

The all-ages, Labor Day Weekend Playground Festival features over 200 musicians from nearly every genre taking to multiple stages at the first-ever Playground Festival, including The Game, whose latest album release, "R.E.D.," is the top-seller in the nation.

Hosted by Nick Cannon, the never-before-seen lineup includes The Game, Big Sean, Panic! at the Disco, Lil Jon, New Boyz, The Cataracs, Break the Circus, Steel Panther, Mickey Avalon, celebrity DJ Heavy Grinder, Fishbone and more. It also will see the last concert by Confide and the musical debut of model-actress Caroline D'Amore (named The Cutest Girl in L.A. by Paper Magazine).

Combined, the performers have sold over 39 million records. Add to that more than 190 local and up-and-coming acts covering rock, reggae, electronic, rap, hip-hop and pop -- along with acres of fun attractions such as The SkullCandy and Oakley Experiences, laser tag, live art shows and carnival rides -- and you've got a musical celebration such has never been seen before in Orange County.

DJ and performer competitions will award winners with the chance to perform sets on the main stages. And, lucky fans will have the chance to win valuable prizes from SkullCandy and Oakley and meet-and-greets with stars like Cannon and Lil Jon.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the event. The Playground Festival takes place Sept. 3-4 at Hidden Valley, Irvine, Calif. (the old Lion Country Safari grounds), next to the Verizon Amphitheater. For more information, visit PlaygroundFestival.com or call 626-485-6406.
