October is Ducks Unlimited Canada Conservation Month at Bass Pro Shops

BARRIE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Oct. 1, 2013) - Bass Pro Shops, one of Canada's premier outdoor retailers, is stepping up to help conserve marshes and ponds across the country for a fifth year in a row.

From October 1 to 31, Bass Pro Shops in Vaughan, Ont. and Calgary, Alta. will promote Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) Conservation Month, a month-long campaign created to encourage customers to make a $2 donation to DUC at the till. Funds raised will go towards DUC's wetland conservation work.

"This promotion is a great opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to help raise funds for wetland conservation in Canada," says Dave Bishop, fundraising manager for DUC in Ontario. "Bass Pro Shops has strongly supported DUC in the past, and we look forward to working together again. In addition, 2013 is DUC's 75th anniversary, and we can't think of any better way to celebrate three-quarters of a century of wetland conservation then by teaming up with Bass Pro Shops for a month of fundraising together."

There will also be an opportunity to enter a contest for a chance to win one of 10 $500 Bass Pro Shops gift cards (in US funds). The contest is open to residents of the United States and Canada, and can also be entered online, by phone or by mail in addition to in-store.

Bass Pro Shops is strongly committed to ensuring a bountiful outdoor future for everyone. They recognize that waterfowlers, hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts are also committed conservationists and represent some of DUC's most ardent supporters. Every customer who makes a donation to Bass Pro Shops during DUC Conservation Month will be helping to continue DUC's conservation mission and build a healthier world for future generations.
