OCZ Technology Showcases Its Flash-Based Virtualization Solutions at VMworld Europe 2013

Exhibit B414, Fira Barcelona Gran Via -- North Entrance, October 15-17

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - October 15, 2013) - OCZ Technology Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: OCZ), a leading provider of high-performance solid state drives (SSDs) for computing devices and systems, is showcasing its VMware-based solid state virtualization solutions at VMworld Europe 2013, located in Booth B414, Fira Barcelona Gran Via -- North Entrance, from October 15th through 17th

OCZ's fourth generation Z-Drive R4 PCI Express (PCIe) SSD Series and VXL Cache & Virtualization Software will be presented in the Company's booth, as this combined hardware/software solution enables flash data caching and application acceleration into VMware virtualized server platforms to provide all of the benefits of flash without compromise. This VMware Ready™ solution distributes flash caching resources on-demand across virtual machines (VMs) to maximize application performance, and distributes the flash between VMs making sure that no VM inefficiently occupies flash when it can be better used elsewhere in the environment. The end result is optimal delivery, management, and utilization of flash resources and flash caching in the software-defined data center (SDDC) regardless of how many VMs are running concurrently.

"Our proven Z-Drive SSDs and VXL Software are combined to deliver a complete virtual performance system that accelerates VM applications enabling flash resources to be dynamically deployed exactly to the needs of VMs," said Dr. Allon Cohen, Vice-President of Software and Solutions for OCZ Technology. "The result is that business users get faster and more reliable access to the applications and data they need while IT reduces operating and capital costs, and with simplified operations, has more time to devote to data center innovation."

Support for VMware Fault Tolerance (FT) without the need for a costly back-end storage area network (SAN) is one of the unique and key differential advantages of OCZ solid state virtualization. In this High Availability (HA) 'SAN-less' enterprise, flash data is synchronously replicated by VXL Software between Z-Drive R4 PCIe SSD cards residing on redundant cluster servers assuring that host-based flash is treated as a continuously available storage resource across VMware clusters. This approach yields no data loss and no VM downtime even during complete server, system or power failures.

Another key differential of OCZ solid state virtualization enables IT managers to pre-load the flash cache in advance and at pre-determined schedules to ensure that critical data is available on Z-Drive PCIe flash at the precise time it will be required by the application.
