ODTUG Announces Kaleidoscope 2006!

An Annual Conference With a New Name, a New Location, and a New Perspective

WILMINGTON, NC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 10, 2006 -- Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG), the only Oracle user group dedicated to developers who work on Oracle databases, today announced the details behind their upcoming annual conference aptly named ODTUG Kaleidoscope 2006!, June 17-21, in Washington, D.C., at the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel.

ODTUG says the new name and focus for the conference evolved out of the true nature of what ODTUG provides. "We chose the name Kaleidoscope because it represents exactly what ODTUG really does for Oracle developers -- clarifies their changing universe," says John Jeunnette, ODTUG president.

While other Oracle user groups are collaborating activities and resources and presenting a "mega conference," the ODTUG board feels that it's more important than ever to continue its mission of providing focused and technology-driven developer education, tools, and support.

According to John Jeunnette, "ODTUG developers represent the middle-tier of technologists who will play a major role in making Oracle Fusion a success. In the wake of new products, partnerships, mergers, and methodologies, developers may get overlooked. ODTUG plays a critical role in helping them stay on top of these changes, and we have deliberately evolved our annual conference to meet these challenges head on."

In addition to the new name and location, ODTUG Kaleidoscope 2006! will feature events on a diverse range of topics that support developers in all products and functions. Highlights include a Web Architecture Symposium, Hands-on Training, and more than 130 technical presentations on specific topics including Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, J2EE Systems Development, Technical ERP, System Design and Development, Professional Development, and Project Management. In addition, Oracle Corporation will be holding its Business Intelligence Summit in conjunction with the ODTUG conference.

As if the depth of knowledge and focus were not enough, the location also brings benefits to the ODTUG conference. "This serendipitous change in venues will also allow a greater number of government attendees to benefit from the hands-on development training and support provided at ODTUG conferences," says John Jeunnette.
