ODTUG Announces Launch of New Web Site!

Taking the Online Oracle Community to the Next Level

WILMINGTON, NC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 13, 2006 -- NC-based Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG), the only Oracle community dedicated exclusively to Oracle developers, today announced the launch of a completely revised new web site for the ODTUG user community at

The new is the first and only major Oracle user group web site powered almost exclusively by Oracle products. Built in Application Express (formerly known as HTML DB), the new site features a powerful technical search tool that allows users to execute specific and targeted searches for more than 2,000 ODTUG technical documents. "As developers ourselves, we knew that an important aspect of our membership is access to rich technical content. We also knew that Application Express was the most efficient way of delivering that data to our members," said John Jeunnette, ODTUG President.

The new also includes nine carefully thought out Expert Areas with focused content, news, and tips for developers. According to Jeff Jacobs, Chair of the ODTUG Web Committee, "Each topic is hosted by a hand-picked expert who is charged with continually updating his/her area with technical content, product news, events, and other resources." Topics include Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing, J2EE/Java, Middleware, Oracle Developer Suite, Development DBA, Methodology and Management, Oracle Designer, Web Development, and Other Programming Languages.

In addition to the two main features, the new provides a host of ancillary benefits including a listing of industry events, a Community Resources Center, access to regional user group profiles, and access to the widely popular ODTUG Technical Journal and ODTUG e-mail lists and archives.

While ODTUG users gain access to new resources, Oracle vendors have a new source to showcase their products and services to the developers that use and recommend them. Run of site banner advertising, a brand new vendor directory, and lengthy vendor profiles are just some of the options available to vendors to advertise on the new "Products and developers go hand in hand. We felt it was just as important for this new site to support the Oracle vendor community, as it was to serve our members," said John Jeunnette.

The new site comes just one week before the ODTUG annual conference -- Kaleidoscope 2006 -- and gives the Oracle developer community an excellent view into the important enhancements, upgrades, and extended benefits ODTUG is offering its members in 2006. The new ODTUG conference web site, launched just a month ago and is another in a series of enhancements unleashed by ODTUG in 2006.

"The features of and are just a preview of the value that ODTUG is providing to its members in 2006. The conference is another important mechanism for the Oracle developer community. This year, the new name and added topics will make it more successful than ever. It's definitely the must attend event for Oracle developers," said John Jeunnette.
