ODTUG Announces PL/SQL Expert Conference -- OPP 07!

Steven Feuerstein Returns to Take PL/SQL Training to the Next Level

WILMINGTON, NC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 10, 2006 -- North Carolina-based Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG), the only Oracle user group dedicated exclusively to developers who work with Oracle technology, today announced plans for OPP 2007 or Oracle PL/SQL Programming 2007 -- a follow up to the very successful OPP 2005, the first PL/SQL-specific conference ever, organized by renowned PL/SQL expert and author, Steven Feuerstein. OPP 07 will be held February 28 - March 1 at the Marriott San Mateo at San Francisco Airport, California.

In a strategic move designed to strengthen the OPP conference series, Steven Feuerstein has called in ODTUG to manage OPP from this point forward. "It was clear to me that ODTUG was the best organization to take ownership of OPP and move it forward. ODTUG's tight focus on developers and DBAs means that the Board recognizes the importance of PL/SQL. Furthermore, ODTUG's reputation for organizing enjoyable and rewarding conferences also made it the logical choice," said Steven Feuerstein.

As a leading PL/SQL expert, winner of three ODTUG speaker awards, accomplished author, and Oracle Magazine's 2003 and 2006 PL/SQL Programmer of the Year, Mr. Feuerstein will serve as Conference Co-chair and Technical Director to OPP 07, performing extensive training, education and interaction with attendees. According to Jeff Jacobs, OPP 07 Conference Co-chair, "ODTUG is pleased to strike this partnership with Steven Feuerstein and OPP. Coordinating a PL/SQL Seriously Practical event is a natural extension of ODTUG and we are looking forward to a groundbreaking educational experience with Steven at the helm."

OPP 07 is a conference for Oracle developers and DBAs who rely on PL/SQL to get their jobs done. As part of the two days, attendees can select from a variety of events that support the conference's theme of "Transformation: Taking Your PL/SQL Coding to the Next Level!" In addition to intensive training by Steven Feuerstein, other participants include Bryn Llewellyn (Oracle PL/SQL Product Manager), John Jeunnette (ODTUG president), and other experts.
